Dressler leaving CFL for NFL

Posted: Updated:
Bismarck, ND -

Bismarck native Weston Dressler is bound for the NFL.
Dressler was released by the Saskatchewan Roughriders this afternoon, so he can sign with the NFL.

Dressler can not say which team he will sign with, but that a deal is imminent.
Dressler would like jersey number 13 which would honor Rider nations 13th man, remember the CFL has 12 men on the field.
Dressler had a tryout with the Kansas City Chiefs just weeks ago.
He helped the Roughriders win a Grey Cup this past season, and spent six seasons in Regina.
He had 442 catches, 65 hundred yards receiving and 43 touchdowns.
Dressler says there were multiple teams after him this off season.

Weston Dressler: "I've got a decision made and its kind of come down to the point where we need to cross our T's and dot our I's. Its exciting for me I'm looking forward to the situation that I'm in right now and the potential for me to earn myself on a team is there"

Dressler graduated from Bismarck High, and also UND.
We'll let you know when he officially signs with his new NFL team.
