Around Town: Two Gas Stations and a Car Dealership

Posted: Updated:

Watch out for bugs on the road.

Tom Palanuk tells us why in this week's Around Town.

Kupper Automotive and the Bismarck Motor Company are bringing a touch of German engineering onto their car lot. The local car dealership has acquired the Volkswagen franchise and began selling them on Tuesday. Many makes and models are currently available including the ever popular and newly redesigned VW Beetle. Volkswagen of Bismarck is currently located at 1025 E Expressway. There are future plans to open a new facility in 2014 next to Furniture Row in North Bismarck.

Mandan residents are soon to find themselves with some new options to fill up that empty gas tank. A new Cenex Station located on Memorial Highway is revving up to open late next week. The new location will have all the essentials for the road, including a carwash and an area to refill those empty propane tanks . A variety of unleaded fuels are offered at the pump including dyed diesel. This Cenex is co-op owned and is currently looking for new members.

Just down the road and located across from raging rivers is Bayside Tesoro. Bayside broke ground last July and is expected to be open early to mid February. The station will offer groceries, a cold and hot deli, and off sale beer and liquor. Also located inside the building is Something's Brewing Coffee Cafe. The cafe will feature a full coffee menu with room for seating. Unleaded Gas and two types of Diesel are available at the pumps and plans to add a carwash are on the horizon.
