This is national School Choice Week - a time set aside by a national group to encourage expanded choices in schooling across America.
Over the past few days, we've highlighted choices made by local parents for where their kids go to class - from home-schooling to public schools.
Tonight, we conclude our report with a look at a family that has decided to use private schooling.
Here's Melinda Bolton.
"When Mike and Angie Christianson moved their family to Minot fourteen years ago, they decided the six Christianson children would be educated by the Catholic School System for reasons of faith and family."
(Macy Christianson, Student) "It's a completely different atmosphere than what they have at public schools because you really get down in your faith and I've learned so much about my faith by going to school here. Way more than I would learn by just going to church."
"Attending Bishop Ryan has afforded Macy opportunities to explore her faith in a global way."
(Angela Christianson, Mother) "She has gone on pilgrimage to Medjugorje. She has gone to Rome to study on a week long trip -- three week long trip last summer to the Vatican and they also toured different parts of Rome. It was a wonderful experience for her."
"In addition to her assistant chaplaincy, Macy participates in volleyball, basketball, softball and dance year round. She says she has a great support system."
(Macy Christianson, Student) "Well it gets to be a little bit stressful, but in the end you have your teammates with you, your coaches are always backing you up and of course there's God."
"Her mother shares those feelings. She says she has always felt a strong sense of connection and faith from the faculty."
(Angela Christianson, Mother) "The teachers and staff have been very attentive when the kids have been struggling in any way. Whether it's academically, whether it's socially, emotionally... They're right there to support and that strong faith that they have helps them to have that backing that they need."
"And its a backing the Christianson family says is best found for them, in a private school. Melinda Bolton KX News."
The group promoting school choice week encourages parents to begin making decisions now about where children will be educated in the school year that begins this fall.
