Ag. Commissioner in Headlines

Posted: Updated:

Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring is in the headlines after admitting to inappropriate office conduct.

Last night Goehring sent out an e-mail to his supporters which addressed the issue that happened a year and a half ago.

In it he admits to asking a female coworker to crack his back during an out of state meeting and referring to the group as a "harem."

He says the case was investigated by Human Resources and no action was deemed necessary.

"I also invited them down to do some staff meetings and training there just so we're sensitive to how people may interpret what we say or how we act. I just want to continue to maintain a professional work environment here. I'm proud of the staff they're great and things seem to have been resolved after a year and a half."

Goehring says he has gotten overwhelming support from the community and his coworkers. He will be running for another term this year.
