A Refugee Woman Shares Her Story at Prayer Day

Posted: Updated:

Prayer day draws a crowd at the University of Mary.

People fill the gym to listen to Immaculee Ilibagiza  tell her story.

She and seven others hid in a bathroom for 91 days during the Rwanda Genocide -- her family was murdered.

Immaculee shares her story of survival and how she forgave the man who killed her mother and brother.

She is both a speaker and an author -- and her message leaves the audience in awe.

"It would be so hard for me to do what she did where she went up to someone who she knew killed her family and she hugged them and forgave them and took a picture with them. I don't know if I would be able to do that," said Cassie Geiss, U-Mary student.

This is Immaculee's second time speaking at prayer day.
