Sanford Treadmill Challenge

Posted: Updated:

Sanford Health is celebrating National Go Red for Women's Health with a little friendly competition.

They are participating in the second annual "Treadmill Challenge."

All of the hospitals in the state compete to see who can cover the most miles in a 12 hour period.

Employees have been taking around 30 minute shifts since 6:00 a.m. this morning.

Nurse Suz Buetow at Sanford says heart disease takes more women's lives than all of the cancers combined.

"Women tend to prioritize everything before them so we want to bring more awareness to get in, get checked. Know your body, know your health and risk factors and act accordingly. Educate, educate and that's what we do here," Buetow said.

St. Alexius also participated in the Treadmill Challenge.
