Highway 23 was closed for nearly seven hours today after a four vehicle crash that left one man dead.
North Dakota Highway Patrol officials say 31-year-old Huan Son of Louisiana was killed in the crash when he attempted to pass a semi on the crest of a hill 10 miles west of New Town.
An on-coming semi swerved to miss Son but the pickup grazed the driver's side.
That impact sent Son into the driver's side of the second semi --- the one he was initially passing.
The pickup Son was driving spun counter-clockwise into a forth vehicle - another pickup - in the on-coming eastbound lane.
All four drivers were wearing seatbelts in the crash that occured around 7:45 this morning.
