Equipment Sales Spurred by Growth

Posted: Updated:

It isn't just energy companies that are enjoying a boom in business thanks to the growth of the Bakken.

Businesses that support what those companies do in the fields continue to see the benefits as well.

That was on display today at the Holiday Inn in Minot where RDO Equipment Company was saluting its clients today with a customer appreciation event complete with the latest in heavy machinery for sale of course.

Jon Markle is the store manager of RDO located just east of Minot.

He says the last few years have been full of business growth...in fact in just a few years they have grown from 8 employees to 50.

While these machines were for sale...he says it is an increase in rentals that has the company growing quickly now.

(Jon Markle - RDO Equipment Co.) "The oilfield is definitely a rental intensive industry so that is why you see the significant increase in inventories."

Today's event was for private businesses that RDO works with.

On Tuesday, government entities were in town for the same function.
