More than 300 barrels of crude oil spilled in two different locations in Western North Dakota today.
According to the North Dakota Department of Health, 300 barrels spilled at a well site 8 miles east of Williston. The well site owned by Zavanna LLC.
The company reported that the oil sprayed off the location onto agricultural land and nearly 295 barrels of oil have been recovered.
Another spill was reported 20 miles northeast of Watford City at a site owned by Newfield Production Company.
About 35 barrels spilled at that site- spraying onto an area that includes a frozen pond.
20 barrels have been recovered from the impact area of about 90 thousand square feet.
North Dakota Department of Health inspectors are at both locations coordinating cleanup.
