Around Town on Valentine's Day

From sweet treats to delicious food...

Start off your morning with the savory scents of fresh baked goodies.

Tami Helmers' "Sweet Beginnings" has been a part of Mandan for about a year and a half.

But recently re-located to main street.

"Moving from my old spot to here has been like night and day. The traffic is just so much better. People see me now. Early morning, you know, we have the lights on and everybody's excited. They stop in and they're so excited to see the donuts here," says Tami Helmers, Owner, Sweet Beginnings.

Donuts, turnovers, strudel, rolls, and cupcakes to name a few.

Her specialty though - custom cakes.

And if you want to send some sweet treats to someone else with a sweet tooth...

"If I have a cookie order that needs to go out, I can ship it out," says Helmers.

You can just walk to the back and have them packaged and mailed out.

Tami and her husband also own "We Ship and More."

They offer custom UPS packaging and pick-up, and mailbox rentals.

Head on back to Bismarck for lunch or dinner at Broadway Grille & Tavern.

Their menu - New American with an emphasis on regional foods and meats from around the area.

And for those of you wine connoisseurs - this wine cellar holds 1800 bottles.

"In the bar, it's always kind of buzzing in there which is, I think, what most people are looking for. But the dining room is a little more elegant, a little more better for a date or Valentines," says Cody Monson, Chef, Broadway Grill & Tavern.

A perfect place to wine and dine with your sweetheart anytime.

Taking you around town on Valentines Day, Steph Scheurer, KX News.

Broadway Grille & Tavern does not take reservations - with the exception of Valentine's Day.

Children are also welcome in the dining area.
