The 20-14 North Dakota Farmers Market and Growers Association began it's 10th annual conference today the Grand Hotel in North Minot. The group will learn about everything from tree grafting to business development.
North Dakota Ag Commissioner Doug Goehring addressed the group today, encouraging their efforts at providing locally-grown produce, and applauding them for their charitable work.
(Doug Goehring, North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner)"To try and also drum up some support, because we have some other programs like the Hunger Free Garden Project, which have really helped to get about half a million pounds of food into our food shelters, into our pantries, in our soup kitchens, to help out one of ten of those North Dakotans which actually have to end up get services from those types of places.."
The conference will carry on tomorrow in Minot.
