Heating The Rez Campaign Reaches Donation Goal

Posted: Updated:

12 days is all it takes to raise 50,000 dollars.

Chase Iron Eyes and his non-profit, launched the "Heating the Rez" campaign February 6th.

Iron Eyes wants to offset the increased propane prices by raising money to heat homes on the Standing Rock Reservation.

They've teamed up with Burning Desires of Mandan, to buy and install multi-fuel source heat stoves in 20 homes within the next 2 months.

1,200 donations from 12 different countries have come in -- including a single check for 3,000 dollars."We've just been extremely encouraged to see the support locally in the great plains and world wide. It's so encouraging that people want to help us help ourselves," said Chase Iron Eyes.

Donations can be made online at indiegogo.com through March 19th.
