Business Beat 2-20-14

Posted: Updated:

You'll find a new option for your drive-through caffeine fix near the train depot and library in Minot. This is the Daily Buzz...a new business opened by a barista who has more than two decades of experience. This is Michelle VanDenHeuvel. She comes to the Magic City by way of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. The move here was made quickly two years ago...but she hasn't looked back thanks to the opportunity that has presented itself.

(Michelle VanDenHeuvel - The Daily Buzz) "This is my own thing and it is kind of nice because back home I didn't have this opportunity. There weren't people who were willing to help you out you know what I mean?"

But now she has The Daily Buzz. You can taste her expertise six days a week from 6 to 6 Monday through Saturday. Her offerings are many...but she recommends trying out something a little new...white coffee. It is her specialty...and she thinks people should give it a chance...

(Michelle VanDenHeuvel - The Daily Buzz) "The white coffee isn't something that a lot of people offer. I get that from my coffee guy in Spokane. It isn't for everybody. I tried it 20 years ago and didn't like it...but it has more caffeine in it so I learned to like it!"

Longer hours are expected once the snow clears, and the temps warm up...with Business Beat, I'm Perry Olson.
