A new oil on the shelf is good for your heart.

February is American Heart Month.
This year, the National Sunflower Association is joining healthy heart efforts, by spreading the word about the health benefits of sunflower oil. 
The oil that is widely used in the snack food industry is now available on grocery store shelves.

(John Sandbakken / National Sunflower Association) "We have worked with Penn State University with doing a feeding trial and found out that just by using 2 tablespoons a day of sunflower oil that it lowers your bad cholesterol significantly infact more so than what it is in the average American Diet, even olive oil, which was very positive. We haven't been able to use the work to an extent because we haven't had a bottled oil. But now having that on the shelf, definitely we are going to be promoting that fact that we are a very healthy alternative."

Sunflower oil is available at most major retail outlets.
Including Dan's Supermarkets and Walmart Supercenters.
