Gunfire Cases Still a Mystery

Posted: Updated:

It's a mystery that is a big concern for the Ward County Sheriff's Department: who is shooting at homes in the region over the last few weeks?

There have been a handful of cases now where shots have been fired into homes in the early morning hours...narrowly missing people inside -- including in one case, kids younger than 15.

Ward County Sheriff's Department Detective Larry Hubbard says they are still waiting for that key piece of information that will crack the case.

Hubbard says evidence collected indicates there is more than one person they are searching for.

Making it tough to solve though -- the fact that the homes that have been targeted seem to have nothing in common.

(Det. Larry Hubbard - Ward County Sheriffs Dept.) "We have looked into that and we don't see any connection between the victims. That is part of the randomness of this...it is not targeting specific people, perhaps people they have worked with. There is no connections between the victims at all. This is getting dangerous and if it continues it is just a matter of time before someone gets hit and hurt."

There is a reward being offered in the case if you have information that can lead to an arrest.

You can contact the Ward County Sheriff's Department with information that might be helpful...or your local law enforcement office.
