YMCA Announces New Race

Posted: Updated:

Minot YMCA's Y-Mazing Race opened Registration today. Participation is also open to non Y members and costs twenty dollars per team.

Race day is April eleventh, within the interior of the YMCA and will closely resemble the popular TV show. Teams must consist of a man and woman over the age of sixteen. Netty Baker says the prizes will come from area sponsors

(Netty Baker, YMCA Program Coordinator) "Trinity Health is sponsoring us.. The exercise physiology department will be giving a month of P.R.T. classes for the winning team. So the male and the female will get that. They'll also get a free month membership to the Y whether they're members or not. They will get two free meals at Texas Roadhouse in Bismarck and that's the winning prize."

Second place prizes are from Complete Nutrition and Mile One. Interested parties can sign up at the YMCA and registration will close once they have reached ten teams.

It's almost here...The 2014-2015 school year is less than a month away, and districts around the region are trying to get a handle on just how many kids will come through the doors on that first day.
