It's not your average pep rally. This afternoon Juniors and Seniors at Minot High's Central Campus were recognized for their academic achievements.

The Renaissance Team has been hosting a week long celebration which came to completion at the end of school today

Students were acknowledged for improving their grades, played games and even teachers got in on the survivor themed rally.

Co-President of the Renaissance Team, Micaela Haider says their mission is to make every one feel included

(Micaela Haider, Minot High Student) "We focus on so many things in the entire school. It is about mainly academics for this pep rally versus the homecoming pep rally we have in the fall of the year. We focus on kids who have improved their GPA by just .01% or .07% and we also recognize student who have a 4.0 cumulative GPA. So it kind of encompasses all of the different students at our school. It's a really great, fun activity for everyone."

Students also won prizes for perfect attendance and new and old teachers were recognized for their commitments to academic achievement.
