Collecting Socks for Vets

Posted: Updated:

Twin brothers in Minot have joined forces with the Fox River Socks for Soldiers program and are raising money to purchase five hundred pairs of socks for troops stationed overseas.

Each pair of socks costs about $13.99 and they need to raise about seven-thousand dollars to reach their goal. So far they have raised thirteen hundred dollars.

(Austin and Quinn Greenheck, Socks for Soldiers) "How it works is, we get the money, and then we still send that money to the company and they'll get all the socks ready for them, and they'll cover all the shipping costs overseas for the socks to get there. It's important for us because him and I both want to go into the military when we are both older, so we were just like this is a way to give back early on."

If you'd like to donate, make a check payable to Fox River Socks for Soldiers and mail it to 2409 11th Avenue Northwest in Minot. They ask that you make a contribution by March 31st.
