Dickinson Trinity Students Resume School Monday

What's next for Trinity High School students...

Steph Scheurer reports as community members, parents, and students gather to hear what the following months will hold.

"First reaction is shock," says Steve Glasser, President of Dickinson Catholic Schools.

"I think it puts everyone in a damper mood," says Ben Hapip, Senior, Trinity High School.

Just two of the reactions of officials and students who are still reeling from the Trinity High School fire.

"I think we'll all pick back up," says Hapip.

It's Ben's senior year and his plan to receive his diploma on Trinity's auditorium stage went up in smoke.

"That saddens all of us because all of our parents walked across that stage. And we'll be the first class not to walk across that stage," says Hapip.

But despite the ashes and dust left behind, Ben looks forward to his final months of high school.

"That's just how I live life. If you live positively, positive things will happen to you," says Hapip.

Officials say the community has been nothing but supportive. Schools and organizations and come together to help in Trinity's main goal - to resume immediate instruction.

"I think it's pretty incredible that we did what we did in two days," says Glasser.

In two days, schools offered space for each of the grades to resume class on Monday.

DSU donated desks and TMI provided office space for faculty.

"The outpouring of support, the thoughts, the prayers...you know, people - just what can we do. I've had so many people, just what can we do. So it's pretty neat. You know, Dickinson's a great community and it just really shows of how people rally when there's a difficult situation and well the community has really rallied," says Glasser.

Glasser says patience is key as the school and community continues to move forward.

The Trinity High School building will remain closed the rest of the school year.

School for Trinity students will resume on Monday.
