Disabled able to ski

Posted: Updated:

The weather is finally warming up but that doesn't mean you still can't go play in the snow.  Today, children from Wachter Middle school did just that.

"This is so cool, so cool."

"Well we're really excited to be here today because Huff Hills has adaptive ski technology that allows some of our students that wouldn't  otherwise be able to ski, participate in today's event so we are really excited about that." says Kim Brecht, specialist at Wachter Middle school

"Oh it just lets the children be individuals, there is no boundaries.  They can forget about the challenges that they have, for that time that they are able to do this." "Great experience for the kids." says Tim and Kirsten McIntyre

"Its so nice to see the light on their faces when they get a chance to go skiing and doing something that they never thought they would be able to do again." says Scott Eckroth, Huff Hills ski patrol

"What an awesome, awesome day!"

"I actually started crying, it's just an emotional thing.  To see her smile on her face that she just truly enjoyed it."
says Tim and Kirsten Mcintyre

The ski season is winding down but Huff Hills is holding their Spring Carnival tomorrow and Sunday.
