A new look - but the same problem.
The 6th Street Underpass was closed for a short time on Sunday due to flooding which is something that was expected at this phase in the project.
The new lift station is the next phase of construction --- set to begin this spring.
Until then, use caution -- as the intersection will continue to flood.
In fact, Minot Public Information Officer Bob Lindee says the flooding is probably at it's worst now because all the new infrastructure was angled toward the new lift station at the lowest point of the underpass.
He says the old pump still works but is slow to keep up with the spring melt.
