Mushers Finish Iditarod Dog Sled Race

Posted: Updated:

As of Tuesday afternoon, five mushers have now finished the Iditarod, and a musher from North Dakota that we've been tracking is now out of the race.

After more than a week of at one point even leading the pack, Kelly Maixner bows out of the extreme dog sled race in Alaska.

According to a facebook post, Kelly and his dogs were unable to battle through the ice and winds on one part of the trail.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old Dallas Seavey, is the winner.

Seavey won his second Iditarod early Tuesday, taking the lead just hours before his finish.
