Worship Band Spends Week with Shiloh Christian School

Shiloh Christian School puts an emphasis on the students' spirituality this week.

"It's amazing,"says Josh Slaubaugh, 7th Grader.

"My favorite part is just the fellowship of it," says Alex Delzer, Sophomore.

It's Spiritual Emphasis Week at Shiloh Christian School - a time students focus on spiritual exploration and growth.

"I'm taking this as a new step to getting closer to God," says Gabby Wilkinson, Senior.

The Christian rock band Sixteen Cities from Portland, Oregon is helping them do just that.

"We try and spend as much time with the kids. Really it's all about relationship for us. We don't want to just come and be on a stage and then disappear. We want to get to know kids, hang out with them," says Sixteen Cities.

Not just for a day.

Sixteen Cities is hanging out with the students, worshiping, and sharing messages for an entire week.

"We tried it out at a school and it went so well we figured let's just do this at more schools throughout the year because there aren't very many bands doing this. I mean, the reality is bands don't typically go and spend a week at a school so we figured there's a need. And where there's a need we want to go," says Sixteen Cities.

"It's cool that they care about us and it's just really neat for them to come and spend their time with us," says Delzer.

"With Sixteen Cities here it's amazing. We're all having a good time with their music and their spirituality is really touching our hearts," says Wilkinson.

It's not just the students that grow from this experience.

"We leave different too because these kids are an example to us of following God," says Sixteen Cities.

Sixteen Cities has been doing ministry as a band for 10 years.

This is their third time visiting Shiloh for Spiritual Emphasis Week.
