Posted: Updated:

Two University of North Dakota students are in the hospital after a fire in their Grand Forks home this morning.

Fire crews responded to the home at about 2:40 a.m. on reports of one person trapped inside the house.

A roommate helped them get out before the fire trucks arrived.

Smoke and fire were coming from the home, but crews were able to bring it under control.

Two people were transported to Altru Hospital.

There's no word on their conditions.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The damage is estimated at 80 thousand dollars.
