When Kyle Germundson was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis last year, he was hospitalized to have his colon removed.
He later had an allergic reaction to one of the medicines he'd been given.
It was so severe, it brought on the necessity for three more surgeries.
With medical bills piling up, his sister decided to set up a fundraiser for the Germundson family.
On Saturday, family and friends came together at Perkett elementary for a silent auction, some breakfast, and to lend some encouragement.
(Kyle Germundson and Kellie Gergen, Brother and Sister) "It's wonderful. And as you can see, just the response and the people that have come out to help support, and I mean we have over 200 gifts that were donated just to help us raise the money, and all the food was donated.. and just lots of caring people. That's all I can say."
Germundson is likely having his next surgery this coming June and funds raised at Perkett will help fund the surgery.
