USS ND Will Soon Join Navy Fleet

Soon the USS North Dakota war ship will join the Navy fleet.

Admiral Rick Breckenridge, Director of the Navy's Warfare Integration Division visits North Dakota to inform residents about the ship's role.

The USS North Dakota will serve as a front line attack submarine.

It will work to promote global stability and keep commerce lines on the sea flowing.

Admiral Breckenridge says this is an exciting time for the state.

"Between the ship, the crew, and the state of North Dakota. And a lot of the personality or the ethos of the ship sort of rests in the reputation of the state and so I know that many of the sailors on board North Dakota are proud to be affiliated with sort of, again, the rough, frontier, outdoor, you know, heartland of America," says Admiral Rick Breckenridge, Director, Navy Warfare Integration Division.

The USS North Dakota is scheduled to be commissioned May 31st in Connecticut.
