Several Minot women will be attending a Midwest bodybuilding competition this weekend in Fargo.
The women have not only built strong bodies, but strong friendships.
Carla Burbidge explains.
These six women range in age from 21 to 52. Their personal stories are very different. But they have a common goal. They will each compete individually this weekend, when they travel to Fargo for the Upper Midwest Body Building Championships.
Paige Sanderson, I have never worked out this hard, so much work but it will be fun"
Somehow these gals learned that the others were interested in training for the competition and soon, they were working out together. They share E-mails and phone calls of support, as they follow a disciplined diet and health plan. Despite varying ages and lifestyles, they have become friends.
Paige "we have formed a really good bond, we are like family"
For some, this will be a first-ever body building competition. Rita though has competed in the past. Plus, she is mother with 5 children and her first grandchild on the way. Dawn is a mother of three. She is proud to be a part of these strong women, and not just on the outside.
Dawn Leblanc, we are amazing we run households, and jobs, we do everything for others, but we should look that way"
Of course, they know it would be fun to win their divisions at the event this weekend, but no matter what, their journey has been fun, and the friendships long lasting. In Minot Carla Burbidge KX News.
