Watford City Wolves Back at State

Posted: Updated:

Also representing western North Dakota at this year's Class B Girl's state tournament is the Watford City Wolves.

With an electric overtime win against Parshall in the Region 8 championship, the Wolves earned their first trip to state since 2011.

Amanda Mogen was a freshman on that 2011 team -- now she's a senior, and the only player on this year's squad with prior experience at state.

She says the key to defeating fourth-seeded Central Cass tomorrow, is playing like they in the region championship.

(Amanda Mogen, Watford City Senior) "We're acting like it's kind of like playing Parshall. They have a big girl, and some shorter girls. We're going to hopefully play our A game during that time, like we did with Parshall."

(Katie Mogen, Watford City Sophomore) "We're going to try to see how the other team plays, and hopefully get what we need. We're going to work on what we do best, and improve what we need to improve."
