Thousands of kids come to Mandan for a hands on lesson in agriculture.
The Morton County Ag Day has become the largest living Ag classroom in the state.
Ag Reporter Sarah Gustin met 2 second graders from Martin Luther Elementary who are getting a taste of farm life.
For those who don't come from the farm.
It can be a lot to handle.
"Can we touch this?"
Landon Jahner and Joesph Agnew grow up in town.
But today they and 3 thousand other kids experienced ranch life...first hand.
Finding their favorite animals
(Landon Jahner / 2nd Grader) "What's your favorite animal here? That would probably be the chicks.
(Joesph Agnew / 2nd Grade) "They are cool. They look cool. They look cool how they walk around and run around and how the little chickees can just get comfortable in your hand."
In some cases discovering maybe they just want to watch from the sidelines.
(Joesph Agnew / 2nd Grade) "I don't really like to hold animals."
Some even walking away considering a life long committment.
(Landon Jahner / 2nd Grader) "I do actually want to live on a farm."
National Ag Day will be celebrated on March 25th.
