MRPC Babes with Bullets

Posted: Updated:

For 10 years, Babes With Bullets has been traveling the country. The program makes it possible for women to teach women the basics of handling a firearm.

This weekend, for the first time ever, the program was in the Magic City for their first one-day handgun training program.

An instructor from the Babes with Bullets taught area women the basics of loading guns, and shooting at a target.

A local trainer says that it's important for both men and women to know the basics, even if it's just knowing what to do with a loaded weapon.

(Cameron Eisenzimmer, Secretary, Minot Rifle and Pistol Club) "One, it builds confidence. I think the greatest thing is probably the confidence builder. I mean, whether its on tv, their significant other has it, their children are getting involved; you know, women have not predominantly been in shooting sports. If something happens, yes I can defend myself, which is not what we teach, but you know, it's there."

The second one-day training session will be held tomorrow.

Contact the Minot Rifle and Pistol Club for more information.
