About 6 weeks ago, sixth graders at Shiloh Christian School began mummifying 11 chickens.
Today they complete the final step in the process.
The chickens have been cooped up in plastic bags and are now ready to be wrapped with the strips of linen.
Once wrapped, a layer of polyurethane is spread across the top to seal it.
Then the chicken is placed in its sarcophagus with the death mask and canopic jar.
This group of boys agree -- this is their favorite part of the process.
"The wrapping. Probably the wrapping that was fun because we did really good on it. Yeah and it didn't stink as bad. Whoo it smelled," says Trey Brunelle, Cole Walth, & Jaden Mitzel, 6th Graders, Shiloh.
The teachers say they'd like to bury the chickens later this year and then have the students dig them up right before they graduate.
