Local Author Visits Shiloh

Posted:

Shiloh Christian Elementary has been celebrating National Reading Month through the theme "I Love Reading: Then, Now and in the Future."

They end their celebration with a special guest.

Doris Liffrig is the author of a book called "Growing Up Rich in a Poor Family."

It tells about what her childhood was like growing up in Parshall, North Dakota during the Great Depression.

Liffrig hopes to remind kids that material possessions are not needed to have a happy home.

"It's fun to see the kids interested in these kinds of stories. The lesson I'm trying to give the kids is they don't need so much to be happy," says Doris Liffrig, Author of "Growing Up Rich in a Poor Family."

If you would like to buy a copy of the book, they are available online at amazon.com.
