Williston ARC Opens

Posted: Updated:

Ahead of schedule and under budget.

Both are points of pride today at the Grand Opening of the Williston Area Recreation Center.

The 76 million dollar fitness facility has been made possible through Williston sales tax money.

It is the largest rec center in America owned and operated by the local park district.

The Williston 'ARC' as it has been nicknamed held a ribbon cutting this afternoon and welcomed the first guests through the doors.

The facility features four basketball courts, training rooms with field turf, a golf simulator, batting cages, fitness rooms and FIVE swimming areas complete with a water park.

The Williston ARC is open tonight until 10 p.m.

Admission is free through Monday as dedication ceremonies will continue through the week.
