Roosevelt Park Zoo is holding its first ever Wild Yard Sale this weekend.
Since ten o'clock this morning, the Visitors center on the grounds has welcomed a steady stream of customers.
The zoological society, board of directors, employees and family friends, all pitched in to donate items.
Those same people spent the last few days setting up tables and pricing items.
Zoo Veterinarian, Ann Olson says an $8,500 portable x-ray machine will be a huge help, to over 200 animals who call the park home.
(Ann Olson, Roosevelt Park Zoo Veterinarian) "So, we do a lot more preventative care than anything. Any time we can learn extra about that animal; if we can take an x-ray of them while they're normal and healthy, then if they are sick we can take a comparative x-ray and check the two to see what's going on. And hopefully this is a piece of equipment we can use for years to come."
The Wild Yard Sale will continue tomorrow from 10am to 4pm.
