Voters were visiting the Ward County Courthouse today.
Early voting began this morning in the Minot School Bond issue.
The Minot Public School is asking permission to borrow 39-and-a-half million dollars to build a new elementary school in southeast Minot, and to make additions and renovations at Edison and Perkett Elementary.
The official election day in next Tuesday, April 8th.
But today, one week's worth of early voting got going at the county courthouse.
County Auditor Devra Smestad says the idea of voting before the actual election day has become popular in recent years.
(Devra Smestad, Ward County Auditor) "It gives everybody a chance to come in, get their ballot, put it through the scanner and make sure that it's counted...they're not worrying about the mail service not getting here in time or not getting them in time to process in time for the election day. Everybody that uses it, the workers that use the poll books down to the voters say it so simple and they really enjoy it."
Early voting for the Minot Public Schools bond issue is each day through Thursday at the Ward County Courthouse from 11am to 6pm.
You will have to show an ID proving you are a resident of the school district to cast a ballot.
