Tulips for Cancer Patients

Posted: Updated:

Aside from their regular cookie sales The Minot Air Force Base Girl Scout Troop had another ambition this month.

They visited Trinity Cancer Care Center this afternoon to give patients vases of tulips.

It was motivated by their Troop leader who survived cancer herself, and says it's about showing others around you that they are loved.

(Dani Parker, Troop Leader) "Cancer does not discriminate, and you know what Girl Scouts don't either. So it's kind of cool that's it's all encompassing. It makes me personally, that I can have the girls give back to the community, and that they can see that when some people are sick, that something as simple as a cookie, a girl scout cookie, can make them feel so wonderful."

The troop personally raised money to be able to present cancer patients with their gifts.
