Business Beat 4-3

Posted: Updated:

This area -- just south of 21st Street NW near Marketplace Foods...could soon be the home of new business. The Corcoran School is open in Williston -- and now the group hopes to build a large childcare center, assisted living center, and retail space here...

(Perry Olson - KX News) "If this plan comes to fruition it would call for this street, 20th Ave to be extended...connecting up with 21st St. creating an area for new business."

You see the early plans -- a large childcare center that would handle between 200 to 250 kids from infant to kindergarten in what AJ Corcoran told me would be state-of-the-art childcare...complete with cameras that can be viewed threw your mobile device so as to always know how your child is doing. This is the first drawing of that facility. The plan has passed the Planning Commission...now it is on to the full city council on Monday.

Fuddruckers has broken ground in Minot...and the plan was to be pouring concrete today at this location that is right in between Sonic and the La Quinta hotel. Developers I spoke with today say they hope to have the restaurant open sometime in July. They were able to build the Williston location in just under four months...so they hope for the same here. Speaking of Williston -- that some company -- Serka Services -- has also opened a 102 room hotel just west of Fuddruckers there. The Brooks can handle both short and long term stays.

With Business Beat, I'm Perry Olson.
