Voters lined up to cast their ballots early this morning as Minot Public Schools asked permission to borrow nearly 40 million dollars.
The bond issue would allow construction of a new elementary school in southeast Minot, and major additions and renovations to two existing elementary school buildings.
School district officials say the spending is needed to deal with an influx of students and the rapid growth of the southeast part of town.
Polls are open until 7:00pm at the Minot Auditorium - the only venue for voting today.
Voters in the Lewis & Clark district, including Berthold, are also deciding a bond issue today.
Both questions require support of 60% of those casting ballots to pass.
