A Minot Elementary Teacher is one of two hundred and ten teachers worldwide who was selected to attend the 2014 Honeywell Educators at Space Academy program.
Perkett Elementary 5th grade teacher Rhonda Evanoff will attend the academy in Mid-June in Huntsville, Alabama.
The program is designed for teachers to learn new and innovative ways to teach math and science, through simulated space situations. She says it will be great to interact with other teachers from all over the world. Plus, she will bring back ideas for hands-on-projects to benefit the kids in her classroom.
(Rhonda Evanoff, 5th Grade Teacher, Perkett Elementary) "They will be doing gravity simulations, spend time in a module on the water, develop situations for life on the moon or mars, and work with rockets, it will be exciting."
Since the week-long academy is all about space, Rhonda says they will even be served foods that are eaten in space.
