Dangerous chemical may have been introduced into a Tioga Apartment's water system.
The North Dakota State Health Department is reporting chemicals, possibly including antifreeze, used to thaw water lines may have contaminated the apartment's water.
Tioga officials have notified the 20 affected residents of the possible contamination.
The water to the apartments has been isolated and disconnected, and the system is being flushed.
The state health department is assisting Tioga officials in testing the water to make sure it is safe before reconnecting it.
The compromised area is without water; however, the rest of the town's water system is safe and operational.
Health officials are recommending that affected residents be tested for possible chemical poisoning at Tioga Medical Center.
