Aircraft Modelers Take Flight

Posted: Updated:

The snow is finally off the ground, and for the Minot Aircraft Modelers, this means flying season has officially begun.

The group had their annual mall show today, exhibiting the different types of planes and helicopters they work on throughout the year.

Anyone could come to the display to fly the small remote control models, and even fly virtual planes on the computer.

A chairman says that it's an exciting time of year for them, as well as those who participate in their shows throughout the summer.

(Matthew Hartung, Minot Aircraft Modelers) "We do this because we enjoy it. It kind of starts our season for us. To come out here and display the stuff that we have been working on throughout the winter, or that we've had in the past. For the public to see what we do, and hopefully get involved, and come out and see us, and fly some airplanes as well."

The Minot Aircraft Modelers will have 3 main shows this summer at their location, about 8 miles north of Surrey.
