Our Student Spotlight introduces us to top graduating high school seniors in the region.
Tonight, we travel to Leeds to meet the two people who tied for the top honors.
(Mylie Herman, Leeds Senior) "We have small class sizes so it makes more one on one attention and it's helpful to succeeding in school is being able to get the attention you need."
(Bo Lauckner, Leeds Senior) "I came from a class of 800 8th graders versus, when I came here we had 12. The one on one with teachers is probably that helps the most because they know you on a personal scale and they can direct help to you."
(Mylie Herman, Leeds Senior) "My favorite class that I've ever taken is probably our classic lit class - it was a lot of reading and I like to read."
(Bo Lauckner, Leeds Senior) "My favorite class is lifetime fitness. I get a kick out of working out, it's a stress reliever. I can't really say I have a favorite teacher but lifetime fitness I like to be physically fit."
(Mylie Herman, Leeds Senior) "Next year I'm going to NDSU for business and economics. In long term I'm not completely sure what I want to do but I want to be able to travel and help kids."
(Bo Lauckner, Leeds Senior) "I'm planning to go to Bismarck State College this fall because I took an EMT class this summer and really enjoyed it. Going to paramedic school seems like it'd be fun and I'd be able to come back and volunteer for the community."
Congratulations to Mylie and Bo - the co-valedictorians at Leeds High School.
Here's a list of all the honor graduates.
The entire class of ten seniors will get diplomas on May 25th.
