There are co-valedictorians at Glenburn High School this year.
Emily Miller and Jennifer Poth are sharing the top spot in their graduating class.
In tonight's Student Spotlight, we hear from Emily Miller.
(Emily Miller, Glenburn Senior) "I'm at the top of my class here in Glenburn because my parents have always put a high value on education and so I've always had their encouragement. I've also had competition from a younger sister and an older brother. And then all of the teachers here at Glenburn are very encouraging, they make sure you understand the information in learning as you go. My favorite teachers are Mr. Sundheim who is a history teacher, and Mrs. Kelly our business and technology teacher. Mr. Sundheim tells the story behind history rather than just facts so we really understand what we're learning and how we got to where we are. Mrs. Kelly, I've learned a lot from her classes and then outside of class she lets me help with the school website and school newsletter so I'm learning practical application also. Some activities I'm involved in are speech and drama, the music program with bands and choir, and student council. Next year I'll be attending Minot State University majoring in managing information systems, I'd also like a minor in Spanish. Long term plans, I'm not really sure right now but we'll see where it takes me."
Congratulations to Emily and her co-valedictorian Jennifer Poth. Here is a list of the honor graduates at Glenburn.
A total of 20 seniors will get their diplomas on May 25th.
