A traffic signal at the intersection of US Highway 83 and 46th Ave. NW (North 83 | 2 and 52 bypass intersection) has been struck by a vehicle and knocked down. As of 11:45 a.m., the signal is currently not operational.
The damaged signal was located on the east side of the intersection and is beyond repair. Temporary stop signs will be placed for eastbound and westbound traffic at the intersection until the signal is placed back in operation. Use caution driving through the area.
Watch for officials directing traffic until temporary stop signs are put into place. Crews are working diligently to place a temporary signal assembly on the east leg of the intersection, for eastbound traffic. Once a signal assembly is put into place, the signal will be placed back in operation.
As the situation develops, information will be released by the city. In the meantime, motorists are urged to use extreme caution in all four directions of the intersection.
