MSU Football Coach Leaving - Going Back to Minnesota

Posted: Updated:

The newly-hired football coach at Minot State University is headed back to Mankato.

Todd Hoffner was hired in January to take over as MSU's football coach.

He had been fired from his head coaching job at Minnesota State-Mankato last year, although the university gave no reason for his dismissal.

Hoffner had been wrongly accused of having pornography on a cell phone that belonged to MSU-M.

Last week, an arbitrator ruled that Hoffner had been improperly dismissed from Mankato and that he could re-claim the position.

At a press conference today, Hoffner said it was best for his family and his coaching career to return to MSU-Mankato.

He fought back tears in making the announcement, saying he is grateful to Minot State.
