With an ever-growing downtown Bismarck... the Downtowners Association is playing with a new idea.
It's called Neighborhood Branding - giving an area of downtown a specific name.
Assistant Director of the Downtowners Kate Herzog says this is common in most downtowns.
For example, Fargo has a neighborhood called "Soma" for South Main.
So far, the association has thought of one Irish area of Bismarck - the boundaries are Rosser, 2nd Street, Main Avenue, and Custer Park.
It's a more industrial part of town that would be called "Kerry Patch."
The Downtowners are still working on a naming mechanism and have not approached property owners yet.
It may have been in the 40s this morning, but that did not stop kids from lining up at the local water park this afternoon.
