One day after it seemed Todd Hoffner would be returning to Mankato State as its new head football coach there's another twist in the story of the infamous coach who was recently re-instated by an arbitrator. The Mankato Free Press reports that at a team practice today in Mankato the players showed up but were not in uniform. Members of the team then read a statement saying they want interim head coach Aaron Keen back as their head coach. Junior safety Sam Thompson said, "As a collective unit, we've all agreed that we will stick together and show our support in having Aaron Keen as the head football coach at Mankato State University, Mankato." Thompson also added that the team has been silent throughout the process and it is time their voice was heard. Thompson also said the team has decided not to practice and then read aloud that the team wants Aaron Keen as its head coach. Hoffner had just held a press conference yesterday in Minneapolis announcing his decision to return to Mankato and leave his position as head coach at Minot State although he had only been hired by the University two-and-a-half months ago.
