Border Patrol Makes Arrests in Minot

Posted: Updated:

Six people were arrested in Minot last week by the U.S. Border Patrol.

Kris Grogan of the Border Patrol Public Affairs Office said the arrests were made as a result of "encounters near several local establishments," and were not the result of any official raid

The US Attorney's office reports a seventh person was arrested a few weeks ago and has pleaded guilty to felony possession of fraudulent documents.

The six arrested last week are facing charges of illegally obtaining social security numbers.

Three have initial court appearances next week in federal court.

According to an affidavit from a Border Patrol agent, one of the six was arrested while on duty at Longhorn Steakhouse in Minot.

The arresting officer says the man admitted he was a Mexican citizen in the U.S. illegally.
