Dive Team Plans to Pull Truck from River

Posted:

Divers plan to pull a stolen pick-up truck out of the bottom of the Missouri River today.

The plan is to send divers out to locate the Chevy truck.

They have a pretty good idea of where it is.

But Dive Team commander Kelly Leben says they won't know for sure until they get out there.

Once the dive team confirms the location they'll assess the best way to get it out.

They'll end up either using a tow truck and crane or air bags to bring it to the surface.

After the truck is out of the water, Bismarck police will look at it to see if they can find evidence for their investigation.

In January someone stole the pick-up from a Bismarck residence and police believe the thieves sunk it in the river.

The process of removing the truck could take most of the day.
