Posted: Updated:

Almost everyone has at some time... had a dream...
Whether you ever got to go for it or not...
Some say it's never to late.
The North Dakota AARP is teaming up with the Small Business Administration to help folks who are looking to start a new chapter in their life.
Ben Smith reports.

"Statistics show there is a lot of small business activity in ND."
Many people of all ages are looking to take advantage of our good economy.
AARP hosted Encore Entrepreneurs--a free seminar to help people over the age of 50 start a business of their own.
"How to start a small business.  Giving people information on the best resources and places to go for information on how to make a success on something they have dreamed of doing." says Janis Cheney
This series of classes gives people an idea what to expect when running their own organization.
"Opening a business is a lot of work." says Carol Kroll, Prospective Small Business Owner
Carol wants to get into the online retail world selling wedding supplies.
She came to this class hoping to get some ideas on how make her dream a reality--from folks who have the wisdom and know how on how to be an entrepreneur
"I think there is a lot more life stories and a lot more experience from people that are in my age range."
Working with local business owners and community leaders put her one step closer to making her dream a reality.
"You learn something from everybody, no matter what age."

Encore Entrepreneurs is holding classes in Grand Forks and Fargo next week.
